Fluorobenzene + phenyl lithium gives biphenyl. The reaction proceeds in steps: first one mole of PhLi reacts with PhF to generate the reactive intermediate benzyne. The benzyne then adds a second mole of PhLi to give ortho-lithiated biphenyl which is quenched to biphenyl upon work-up.
