In the anthraquinone process for the production of hydrogen peroxide regenerates the corresponding anthraquinol with hydrogen and a palladium catalyst.

Note that 2-alkyl anthraquinol/anthraquinone are used industrially. The solvent (or Òworking solutionÓ) is a cocktail which varies between companies.
