Cyclohexane can oxidised to a mixture (called "KA", ketone-alcohol, mixture) of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone using oxygen (air) over Mn/Cr (salt) catalysts.

The reaction proceeds via cyclohexyl hydroperoxide, R-O-O-H.
